The next morning, Ling tells the gang that he has stolen the corpse transformation potion and the beast transformation potion from the laboratory. He also tells them that the whole of Hangzhou is a "laboratory" where people from all around the world come to test the effects of these potions. Ling also tells the group that he thinks it might be a good idea to join the gang. He says he can't hide forever, but he needs to make sure that they're not going to ruin his life. He tells Ling to tell them about the military base, which is not far away. Ling says he'll check it out. He's not here to kill them, he just wants to talk.
