In this chapter, the reader is introduced to the "mayi descendant" of the "Book of Life and Death." He is a young man who has just returned from an encounter with the mysterious "literary star." The young man asks the reader what the book is, and the young man answers that it is a book of death and life. The narrator then tells the reader that the "mystery star" is the "mourning master" of this book, and that he knows the "destined one chosen" by the book. The young narrator asks the man if he has ever used the book, to which the man replies that he has never reached the level of "creepiness" as the young narrator does. He also tells the narrator that he does not know how to "take the initiative" when signing the "life-death contract." The narrator tells him that he will have to wait three months for the blood curse to take effect, and then he will be able to use the "second king of hell" key to defeat the "king of hell."
