In this chapter, we learn that the protagonist is named "Liolou" and that he's an unlucky guy. He's upset because he thinks that his bad luck is beginning to get worse. He tells us that he was once a beautiful girl at an elite school, but she's now got terminal cancer, and she wants something new to change her mind. He thinks that maybe she just wants a change of scenery. The protagonist is shocked to find that his bag contains a piece of paper with the words "life and death" written on it. It's the same paper that Lin-Han found earlier in the day. The contents of the paper, the protagonist says, are waiting for him to edit it. He wonders if this means that he can change his own fate and not the heavens. He also wonders if he can prove his luck by changing his own life.
