In this chapter, we are introduced to a new character, Gaolov, who is a member of the Heaven Stage. He is an expert in the art of gambling, and he explains that the Grand Gambling Master has brought about a change in the way humans and beasts fight. Since humans cannot use violence against animals, they must rely on gambling to decide their future.
