In this chapter, we learn that Kim Jung-il is leaving for South Korea the next day, and that he will be staying at Kim's house for the night. In the meantime, we are told, Kim has been drinking heavily all evening, and he has let Kim stay over at his house. Kim tells us that he has spent the last four years "living with this guilt" , and now that he is free of it, he is ready to "pay back everything I owe you" .
