In this chapter, we learn that we're back in the world of the undead. We're introduced to a new character, a high school student named Elmire. Elmire tells us that she's back from the "Welcome to the World of the Dead" party, where she met her real-life boyfriend, a guy named Petruchio. She's thrilled to be back, but she also wants to know what's going on between her and the guy she met in the party. She asks him why he lied to her, and he tells her that he's not in a position to guilt her about anything. He doesn't want to punish her for lying, he just wants her to treat him like a boyfriend. He tells her they're going to pretend to be in public, so no one will catch them. He also tells her he'll be back in a few days, and she'll have time to think about it.
