In this chapter, the reader is introduced to a new character, who is introduced as "blue rms" . He is a young man who has just graduated from college. He has just returned from a trip to Europe, where he has been asked to deliver a speech on the subject of love. The speech, which he has written himself, is addressed to a young woman who has come to Europe to see him. The young woman, however, is not aware that the speech is being delivered by a man she has never met before. She does not realize that the speaker is the same man whom she had met in the street. She realizes that he is the man she had been looking for, and she realizes that she has been deceived by him. She is also aware that he has lied to her about the nature of his relationship with her. She knows that he will be angry with her if she does not change her ways, but she is not sure how to respond to his anger. She asks him if he would be angry if she had known that he had avoided her, and he says that he would not be angry at her for not changing her ways. She tells him that she would not have changed her ways if he had known she had avoided him.
