The scene opens with a conversation between a young woman named Yuma and a man named San. The young woman, Yuma, tells the man, who is named San, that she is a member of a cabaret club and that she has been working there for the past two months. The man, however, does not recognize the young woman and does not speak to her. He tells her that he has come to check on her and that he is sorry that she had to leave the club. Yuma tells him that she made her own costumes and that the club does not have any of them. She asks the man to take care of a table and he agrees to do so.
