About This Chapter
In this chapter, we learn that San has been caught in the crossfire of the "hotness" and "sexism" of some of the men who have taken part in the "Cosplay" scene. He's worried that he's going to lose his place in the community, and he suggests that he try to distance himself from the hobby for a while. He says that if he waits, he'll be able to "improve his costume making skills" . He tells us that he has to work this coming weekend, so he can't go to the event, but he thanks everyone for their kind words. He asks if anyone has been taking pictures, and they all say that they've been doing so. He then asks if they're doing it alone, and everyone says that they haven't been doing it. He wonders if this is because of the fact that they don't have enough money to buy a ticket to the big event. He also wonders if the people who are taking pictures aren't taking them because they want to be seen, or because they just want to look at someone's body. He suggests that they might be taking pictures because it's "so empty" when there are so many people in the crowd.
