This chapter opens with a warning to the Governess to be careful on her way back from a tour. The Governess tells the reader that she has just returned from the tour and that she is worried about her safety. She tells us that she had a nightmare during the tour, and that when she woke up, she was surprised to find that she was back. She says that she dreamt that the moment was a dream, but that she would be with her all the time. She promises that she will confirm this every time she sees him.
