In this chapter, the narrator tries to keep a promise he made to his girlfriend. He wants to go to a movie with her, but he knows that boys will not like it. He tells her that he will buy it for her, stop it, and say thanks to her if she likes it. She tells him that she will like it if he likes it, at least. He asks her what she thinks, and she says that she thinks it is ridiculous that he wants to see a movie just because accompanied by his result. He says that he doesn't care what high school he goes to, because with his result, he will be admitted to one of the best second- affiliated high schools in the city. He also says that if he wanted to, he would never have agreed to associate with her because she is so good at school. She says that since he started dating her, he hasn't really focused on her, around, and always looking for something else. She asks him when they will come back to celebrate their two years together, and he says that when they get good grades, they will be back together.
