It's lunch time, and the Governess asks Cai Ling whether she needs a temporary assistant. She's not exactly thrilled about the idea of working with someone else, but she's grateful that Cai Ling is so happy. The Governess tells Cai Ling that she'll have to pay for the food expenses, which is not very nice, but it's okay because she is the one who wants to learn from Cai Ling, and she should be paying Cai Ling's tuition instead. Cai Ling tells her to have lunch and then he'll go for a walk. He's going to be careful walking around the city, because he's used to being an invisible clown. Three years ago, he was so shy that he wouldn't even speak to his classmates. Now, he says, he'd rather be dancing with Cai Ling than talking to her. He doesn't know how to say that, but he does know that he likes her, and he wants to be a part of her life. He tries to dance with her, but the music is too loud, and his hand is already in the air
