Domestic violence has made it impossible for her to continue living, and she has lost the courage to do so. She tells her son that he needs to either resist her husband or leave him. She relies on him more and more, and he is not obligated to give her tea or water every day. She begs him to take what she deserves, and then she will leave him forever.
