He says that the barrier around the brothel has been set up so that no creature can escape. If the evil god wanted to get the soul of zhan, he would have to come back, beg for help, and fulfill his wish first. The elfin queen tells the narrator that she helped him tie him up, and she explains that she is a friend of his father's. She says that she has helped him pay for his debts, and he says that he loves her so much that he gave himself up to complete their unholy sacrifice. Now that he knows what he wants, he can make his move.
