About This Chapter
The narrator explains that the story is fictional and that there is no intention to describe real events or people in the setting. He explains that he did not expect his father-in law to visit the sacred continent and that he does not disapprove of him regaining his composure. He says that his daughter has grown up and has someone she likes. He tells her that he will wait for her to come back and asks her to pray to an ancient god called the "demon god of desire." She says that she will do her best to return and if there is another chance, she will ask the god to send her back to visit her and her grandparents again. The narrator says that the name of the ancient god is "eros," which means "the demon god." He asks his daughter to come and look after him and her company for awhile and says that he must pay a trip to the "sacred continent." He wonders if his daughter likes a male god, and wonders if she has inherited his physique. He feels that he would have told her earlier that he was the father of her son if he had known earlier that she was pregnant. He fears that if she does not return, the spell will be broken and he will not be able to open the door to another world.
