The chapter opens with the narrator explaining that the story is fictional and that there is no reference to real events or people in the setting. He explains that he has come to visit his father, but that he wants to speak to him one last time. He says that even though he is evil, he has a "lifelong bond" with his father. He asks his uncle not to interfere in the affairs of other peoples family. He tells his uncle that little zhan is his father's child and that he was taught to be "brave and sincere" since he was a young child. The narrator explains that in the original world, people do not like love between people of different sex. Little zhan was so afraid that he would get pregnant when he first met the narrator. He turns out that when he confessed that he loved her, he was holding onto a strong determination. He also tells the story of the night before, when someone instructed him to push little Zhan off of the sidewalk. He realizes that this is a plot against him.
