In this scene, we are introduced to the young hero, Ming-ling, who has just returned from the battle in which he fought on the side of the Pandavas. He is very excited to be back on the battlefield, and he is eager to help his friends escape. He tells the others that he will stay behind to help them escape, and they all agree to do so. He then tells them that the key to their escape lies in the seven petals of the dragon, which is symbolized by the phoenix.
