The chapter opens with a description of the Black Tortoise kingdom, which is a sworn enemy of the heavenly kingdom. It seems that the bridge over the river is a trophy that was kept in this kingdom as a trophy for the snake wars between the two kingdoms. The narrator tells us that the best place for cultivating his water technique is in the Black tortoise kingdom. He says that he would much rather defeat the snake commander from before the sky than drink as he pleases. He also says that the underground palace is treacherous, and that they should find the fan first. He then tells us about the smell of wood resin that he feels when he smells it. It is the sacred wood tree of the Lord realm. The aura of the tree now suggests that it has awakened her saint body. He goes on to say that in autumn he does fade and fall, in spring he comes back to life.
