This chapter's opening scene takes place in the city of Yulan, in the Yulan province, in northeastern China. It is the middle of a battle between two beasts: a wild boar and a tame goat. The wild boar is a member of the beasts' sect, and the tame goat belongs to the civilian faction of the sect. The two beasts are fighting over who can tame the most ferocious of the two beasts.
