The three-eyed bat attacks the invisible man, but the other two-eyed bats outnumber him. The invisible man is furious and calls the andans "scums" and "poison devils" . He says that he has been his enemy and that he will kill him if he does not go away. The sound of a restaurant going up in the distance makes him panic and he rushes to put out the flames.
