In this chapter, Bill and the other scientists discuss the importance of creating a "real" god in order to save the universe. Bill argues that the world is falling apart, and a real god would only help an insignificant race like humans. He tells his friend that he has placed part of his "Karma Seed" in special containers, which are meant to protect him from the consequences of his actions. He also tells him that his younger brother is also a part of the experiment, but he does not tell him what they are about to do. They bid each other adieu, and Bill says goodbye to muskderer, who has always been one of his closest friends. He says he has been exploring the unknown continent, but that he must be careful.
