About This Chapter
It's almost time for the cats to go to bed, but they're not feeling well. The temperature's too high, and the water level isn't even close to their butt. They're worried that someone's trying to murder them, and they'll have to go find someone else to do it for them. The landlord says he's heading out, but neither he nor bombe have been found. He's looking everywhere for them, but he can't find either of them. He says there's a sound coming from his room, and he'll throw her in the bathtub. He tells her to listen to him obediently, and she says she'd better obey him. He asks her if she can bear to watch him struggle and float in the water, but she says no, and then he says she better hurry, because she's just in time, and that she'll be thrown in very gently. She says she won't let him take her lying down, but then she hears a rumble, and it's the stomachs of the cats. They haven't had anything to eat for five days, and now they've had to be bathed, so they need to get some fresh air. They can eat whatever they want.
