About This Chapter
The servant asks where the firewood came from, and the servant replies that it was the meow of two birds. The servant then tells the servant that he saw two birds on the balcony of another house, and that the bird was one of two pigeons that had been roasted in the house of the uncle who raised the pigeons. The bird is a messenger pigeon, which means that it is a bird that is sent to deliver messages to people in the future. When the servant asks the bird where he is going to eat, the bird responds that he will have to wait until nighttime when no one is around to understand him. He then asks the servant to prepare food for the bird, and he promises to do so. He also tells the bird that he must follow his rules and not to touch any of the things in his house. He tells him that he cannot just catch the birds as he pleases, even if he wants to hunt them, because he has to wait till night when there are no people around. He says that if the bird does not obey his rules, then he will prepare food. When he finds out that his mother is ill, he offers to buy some fish for her, but she refuses, saying that she does not have enough money to buy the fish. She then hears the voice of the two birds, and she realizes that it must be them.
