In this chapter, the chi wen explains that he has never felt love for a mother before. He says that he was too stupid to think that his sister was really his daughter, and that she just wanted to use his dragon power to get ahead in life. He tells his sister that she is not worthy of being a mother, because she is useless. He reminds her that her mother died long ago, and she died in his arms. The real appearance of the dragon, he says, is coming soon. He explains that it is one of the nine forms of the pseudo-dragon: the dragon head, the fish body, the body of a body-rotter, and so on. He warns his sister not to move or transform into the dragon form, because it will weaken her body very quickly. He also tells her that the killer of his sister wore the emperor's gift of concubine, so he needs her to join him.
