In this chapter, the prince asks the girl what she thinks of the first swordsman from the dragon temple. The prince thinks that the swordsman looks like he's made a black smoke. He also thinks that there's a patrol post nearby that's supposed to protect the borders of the kingdom, but the patrol post doesn't seem to be there. He's also worried that the fake consul general and the dragon fighter are trying to figure out who he really is. He tries to convince the girl that the remaining 20% of the dragon's power is enough to escape, but she can't figure out how to do it. He tells her to go check the calendar of the year 760, the autumn, and the kingdom of the northern kingdom, the yan, to see how long it's been since the rebellions were defeated. He thinks the argument in the paper is good enough to defeat a horned dragon, but he'll have to pull back in order to do something about it.
