This chapter opens with a soliloquy by the general, who tells the audience that the emperor's power is too great for him to defeat. He tells the general that his dragon weapon is too weak to fight back, and that he has no choice but to scream in pain. The general tells the lieutenant general that he stole the dragon weapons in order to recover them. The lieutenant general tells him that the wound is a flesh wound, and the general asks if he really thinks he can hurt him with the knife. He says that even though he has the knife, he does not think he can harm him with it. He urges the lieutenant to take the stick and grab him, saying that he is on the brink of dying and that the fight is between him and the lieutenant. He wants to use the lieutenant's life as a reward for the stolen weapons, and he urges the general to set the lieutenant free. When the general sees his vision blurred, he asks the general if he wants to change the tragic world. He asks if the general wants to help him regain control of the government.
