This chapter opens with a flashback to the first meeting between Milady and Long. Milady tells Long that the wound on Long's neck has healed, but that Afu has drained all of the dragon's power. Long wonders if Milady's wound is hot, and Milady says that it is. She tells Long to seek treatment for his wound immediately, as he is too heavily wounded to continue. Mily tells Long not to get distracted by a magic circle, as this will enable them to escape from the lieutenant general.
