When the doctor arrives at the manor, he is greeted by his wife and daughter-in-law, who tell him that he is welcome to stay as long as he wants. The doctor, however, refuses to stay, saying that he has been grounded by his father. He tells his wife that the general manor has invited his sister to a banquet, but she refuses to go. She says that she was just grounded because she helped her father's wife, and that she will not go to the banquet because her father has forbidden her to do so
