The Governess explains that she is the real wife of zi ran and that she will not allow her sister to interfere in her affairs. She tells the Governess that she has ordered the framers to frame her. She also tells her that she and her sister are cousins and not her mother's. She says that she did not want to kill her sister initially, but that she would have done so if it weren't for the wet nurse who had given her the letter. She then says that after she dies, she will be the legitimate wife of the Peng family.
