Jane is overcome with fear when she sees the doll in her brother's hand. She begs him to lead her to a less crowded place, but he refuses, saying that the doll represents a person whom he hates. He then tells her that the elf king is waiting for them at the border of the kingdom of the Danes. Three days later, the Danes find out that their princess has been abducted by the evil spirit. Jane begs her brother to take the doll back to the elves and save the princess.
