The next morning, the doctor returns to the school and finds that the students have been up all night preparing for the performance tomorrow. The doctor tells the students that he is the only person who can perform the performance. He tells them that tomorrow will be the day of their graduation and that they should not worry about their fatigue. He also tells the story of how zhugong used to be miserable before the doctor took her in and how she has finally gotten along with the other students. He asks the students if they have the ability to perform. The students are shocked at the doctor's audacity and wonder if they are all middle-class students like the doctor.
