The narrator says that he's probably going to work in another country for a while. He's not sure if that's the right thing to do, but he does want to look at a new place. He wants to see if it's a good fit for him, and he wants to take a tour of the place. The narrator doesn't know why the guy is so reluctant to take the tour. He tells the guy that he was tired of this place when he was young. He says that after graduating from college, he stayed in this place to work as a teacher. He likes the job, though, because he can use his experience to help others.
