After three o'clock in the morning, Ling wakes up to find herself alone. She wants to resign from her job so that she can spend more time with her lover, but she can't stand the thought of him. She tells herself that she has submitted her application for the job, and that it will take a few days for her to be officially approved. She's also worried that she'll have to deal with her own problems after she leaves, since she's so in love with her fiance. Ling is worried that he'll be tempted to talk to her in front of him, and she threatens to break her leg if he dares do so. She doesn't know how to tell him, because she hasn't finished her homework. She asks the manager to let her stay with him at night, and he agrees.
