In this chapter, we are told that the family has been unable to find a signal to wake up their mother, who is still in a coma. When they finally do wake up, they find out that their mother has regained consciousness. They also learn that the local residents have been speculating on the possibility of a madman as the cause of the tragedy. The family also learns that their sister has told them that she got pregnant a month after they were married.
