About This Chapter
Azam Raharjo narrates the story of how he and his father were stopped by a patrolman who went missing. The patrolman's name is Zulkifli, and he was one of the officers who disappeared during the earthquake. When the patrolman asked for help in finding the missing man, he was told that social media and the earthquake had made it impossible for them to reach out to the public. When they finally did reach out, however, they were unable to find the man because of the large number of missing persons posters that were posted on the bulletin boards. When asked why he did not tell the public about what he heard, he said that he preferred to play the game rather than think about his father's situation. When he looked at the faces of the missing men, he realized that they were human faces. He was sure that the faces were formed by natural selection. He felt scared, and when he called out to his friends, he could not hear their voices anymore. He did not understand what had happened, and was shocked to find out that his friends had been trapped inside.
