This is a locked chapterChapter 16: Midnight Balloon Seller II: A Song
About This Chapter
Azam Raharjo shows us a midnight balloon seller who sells a song cape for only 10.000rupiahs each. The kids love the costume, but how could they pump the balloon when it doesn't have a tail or opening? He shows us the scary video of the seller, who is clearly a human. The narrator says that it's impossible to record a ghost, but the narrator thinks that this is the real thing. He also says that the narrator can't say that the ghost isn't real, because he can only say that a group of people have made a hoax out of it. He then turns to the narrator's wife and asks her if she's happy for her husband. She says that she'll buy him a new dress the next day. She then tells us that the night before, she and her husband saw a red car pass in front of their house. It's not the red car, but a car with a koala in it. She's so happy that she wants the balloon to explode. She also tells the narrator that since that night, her uncle has gotten rich by selling his apartment. She tells him that the balloon never deflated, even though it was a toy for a year and a half. She asks the kids to go home and fix the balloon, but they're too upset to do so. They have two balloons, one blue and one dark red. The blue balloon exploded, and the dark red balloon exploded. They're so upset that they hold the blue balloon tightly.
