In this chapter, we learn that Ming's parents have been guiding him since he was a child, but have never interfered with his choice of education. He tells his father that he wishes his parents would understand the value of sports and not force their children to live according to the rules of the game. He hopes that his parents will try to understand their children and not tie them down in pointless struggles.
