The two young men are interrupted by the arrival of "cheng mo," a member of the audience from the neighboring province of Guangxi, who does not show up for the match because he is busy with his own business. When the young men return, they find that "the two guys from Hangzhou weren't as great as both of them." The young men explain that in such matches, the players do not show their true strength because they do not want to impress the audience with their fighting skills. They explain that tao is superior to the two players from Hangzhou because he has a "strange taste in guys" and because "in such exhibition matches," he is better than the other two. They then discuss the incident in which they ran into a young girl in the wrong bathroom. The girl told them that she went to the show to see "jing," and that she liked him very much.
