In this chapter, the narrator introduces us to Hiroyuki, who is on vacation with his sister, Mitchan, and his friend, Nemo. Hiroyuki tells the narrator that he and Mitchan are going on a date and that he doesn't feel like he and his sister are a couple. The narrator is shocked, because he thought that they were going to get married and have a family. He tells Hiroyuki to get out of the way and not to bring anyone back with him. He also tells him to be quiet, because it reminds him of last year when he was swimming in the stream. He says that he wants to go over to the lake and have some fun, but he's afraid that Mitchan isn't acting the part of a normal guy. He's also worried that the lake is full of alcohol, which is why they're going to have a dinner party. He asks the narrator if he still has a crush on Mitchan and the narrator tells him that he will be there the next day.
