About This Chapter
The narrator tells us that she likes to be the best. She thanks Hiroshi for letting her stay with him, and she wonders why he doesn't like her as a friend. Hiroshi tells her that he likes her because she's pretty, and he thinks she likes girls who are in their mid-thirties in bikinis. The narrator says that she thinks he's talking about her, because she thinks she looks like a girl in a bikini. She says she'll need to figure out a way to make him like her. She tells Hiroshi that he was staring at her, and Hiroshi says that it was actually pretty nice, and it's because he had a "break through" in life, and now that he has ten more likeable people around him, the girls just want to leave him alone. She asks Hiroshi if she can help them with their home work, and the narrator says he'll do so. He says that since Hiroshi's gotten popular, no one has been able to get close to him. He's been fighting with the referees all day, and they've been calling on the teachers to help prepare for the next school year. He tells the narrator that he owes Hiroshi a favor, because the teacher called on him to help out. He asks the narrator if she'd like to give him a "n0 %" , too, since she came into the class with him the other day.
