The chapter opens with a conversation between Hiroshi and Mishima, two girls who have been taking care of Mishima since he left school. Mishima asks Hiroshi where he is, and Hiroshi replies that he has gone to meet some girls who are interested in him. The conversation turns to Mishima's lack of friends, and she asks Mishima why he should cast aside his chains and work with her again. She replies that she does not mean any harm, and that she has zero friends. She says that Mishima is dissatisfied with something in his life, and should change it. She then asks him why he would want to work with them again, and he responds that he does not have the self-confidence to disagree with them. He says that he will go ask some of the other girls in his class to play the same game.
