Miyoko is back at school, but she's nowhere to be found. Everyone is freaking out about her whereabouts, but Miyoko doesn't seem to care. She's already left, and she'll be gone for a long time. Miyoko's not the only one who's worried about her: nishiya is too busy to worry about her mom, and her school isn't fun enough for her. The two girls are using sign language, and Miyoko can't figure out what they're talking about. She wants to learn sign language so she can communicate with other people in it, but her mom won't let her do it, so Miyoko has to do it by herself. She tells Miyoko that there's a girl who wants to meet her after school, and that's why Miyoko stayed away from school for so long. She says that she wishes she had gotten to know Miyoko better, because she'd have been able to talk to her more easily. She also says that if Miyoko had been in school with her, she would have learned to communicate with her mom.
