As Ranmaru is making tea, he glances at an article in the newspaper. He's worried about Toma's health, but he's also looking forward to seeing him again. He doesn't think there's any man on the face of the earth, he says, and that's because we're so simple creatures. Ranmaru tells him that another member of his party has arrived, and they've been hanging out all day looking for Mina. Mina is stubborn, Ranmaru says, so it's going to be hard for them to get her away from him. He tells Ranmaru to hurry up to find the coin. Mina seems to be a good person, though, and Ranmaru thinks she's a good match for Ranmaru. He says he'll stick it out with Mina one more time.
