In this chapter, we learn that the rescue team's driver, shindo-san, is very serious about his job. We learn that he was once a member of the school's soccer team, and that he is very good at stopping the fire engines from shooting at him. He also tells us that he has cut his fingers while training to be a rescuer, and he says that cutting his fingers during train-ing is just as good as cutting them during a real-world emergency. He says that he will try to find a way to be closer to sayumi in the future.
