In this chapter, we find out that the protagonist of the story is a high school student named Nemo. Nemo is on his way to a tournament in the United States, and he and his friends are hanging out in a hotel. Nemo tries to remind himself that he's going to the tournament, but he can't bring himself to do so. Nemo's friend, Hiroyuki, is also in the hotel, and Hiroyuki tries to cheer him up by telling him that everything was fine with Nemo. But Nemo is not having it. He's staying in a twin hotel room with Hiroyuki. Nemo says that he doesn't like the fact that they're staying in the same room as each other, and that he wants to go back to the hotel. Hiroyuki tells him that Nemo is worried about something, but Hiroyuki says that it's nothing to worry about, because Nemo turned out okay. Nemo wants to know what's wrong with the situation, and how he'll be able to cheer up Hiroyuki when he gets back. He asks if Hiroyuki has seen moe before, and she says that they got split up in the shops. Nemo asks if he can see Hiroyuki again, and when Hiroyuki replies that he hasn't, Nemo is all, "I don't know how I'm going to see him again." Nemo is sad that he won't have the chance to cheer Hiroyuki up when he comes back.
