The rescue team arrives at the fire station and reports that they've seen a girl and a small dog in the river. They're going to try to rescue the girl and the dog, but they're also worried about the girl's safety. The team apologizes to the girls and tells them to be brave. The girls say that they were going for a walk when the light hit them and they ran away. The girl says that she can't throw the muddy mud away because it's "not trash" , and the rescue team says that's okay, too. They tell the girls that they can walk over and they'll try to help them if they need it. They apologize again and say that the girl is okay, but she's going to have to stay brave for a bit longer because the river is getting crazy. They ask the girls what they were doing out in the rain, and they say that she ran off because she was afraid of the light and she was scared of the mud. They don't know what to do, so they tell her to throw the mud away. They also tell her that she'll be okay if she doesn't want to be a victim of the river again. They say that if she wants to be, she can go to the river and walk over, but that she should be careful not to get too carried away by the river or by the people who are trying to rescue her. They leave the girls alone and the girls talk about the news of the rescue. They wonder why the girl screamed so loudly, and why they feel so distant from the people they know. They think that they are like fellow students who are watching the news, but who live in a totally different world than they do.
