The chapter opens with a conversation between Hiroshi and his mother. Hiroshi's mother, Chiyomi, asks her son if he has any siblings. He tells her that he has two brothers, one who is three years younger than him and the other who is eight years younger. He also tells his mother that he is in love with his boyfriend in orange, who is a student at an all-boys high school. The conversation turns to the family's reunion, which has just taken place at the fire skills tournament. The mother tells Hiroshi that he can use one of the seats in the back of the fire truck for his little brother, moechan. She also tells him that she has a little brother named ebihara, and she asks him to wipe his mouth with hers. She tells him to do so, and Hiroshi agrees. He is surprised to hear that moe has turned on the water, and he says that it was a totally different experience for her than it was for him. He says that he was right, and that it made her happy. He asks his mother if she has feelings for him, and her reply is that she does. She says that she likes him because he rescued her from a fire and rescued her heart, too. She asks him if he had feelings for her for longer than she did, and his response is that he did. He turns her down anyway, so she can relax. She thinks that his broad shoulders make him dreamy, and when she looks at his body, she thinks that it is a mistake for him to turn her down
