The next day, Hirokazu and Ren meet at the hot spring to practice their dodges. Hiroki asks Ren to tell him what he's been up to. Ren tells him that it's because he wants to give Mishima what she wants. He says that he can't be friends with anyone when they're playing against each other. He also tells Ren that Mishima is a formidable opponent, and that he'd forgotten about that. Ren says that she's tired from her sleep, and they'll be playing cards later. He tells her that Hojo is the best school for basketball he'll ever play in, because now that she wants to beat him so badly, he needs to get stronger. Ren admits that he fought with his parents about it, but he doesn't regret it.
