In this short scene, we are introduced to Nausicaa and her new husband, Petruchio. We are also introduced to her new baby daughter, who we are told is the result of a sexual relationship between Petruchios and Nausicaas's daughter. We also learn that Petruchione is a member of the royal court, which means that he is privy to all the details of the court's affairs. We learn that the royal family has been forced to flee the city of Aurum because of an aerial attack by the U.S. Army. Nausicae is horrified at the thought of her daughter's death, but she does not want to die. She is horrified by the fact that the people of the city do not fear her, and she is determined to take action against them.
