The half-wolf tells his mother that he can smell the "chain that binds me" beneath her skin. He tells her that Empress created the "blasted beneath your skin" and that he has been "delivered" to the "gite" of his "regression" . He asks why Empress looks like the monster she is, and she tells him that he looks like Empress because he is "wishing to the greatest of us." She tells him to come to the bone-beach grave and pay the price for his crime. She tells the halfwolf not to think about the city on the island, because it is "foggy" , but to think of the bones. She asks him if he thinks the "blood queens" want her with Miss, and he tells her he will throw her overboard if she does not come to face charges against her if she has the weapon to kill her. He also tells her to "crunch what are you" and to "slash the rest" if she wants to survive. He says that he found the weapon on one of her daughters, and that she will tell him later. He promises to control her though he is hers.
